This guide shows how to configure PostNord in Shipi. You connect your own PostNord business account with a PostNord API key, and Shipi books PostNord shipments, prints labels, lets customers choose a PostNord service point and can book the pickup for you.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| What you need | PostNord API key, your PostNord customer number (party ID) and the country of your PostNord agreement |
| Where to get them | The PostNord Developer Portal (API key) and your PostNord agreement (customer number) |
| Countries | PostNord agreements in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland |
| Service modes | Default services, delivery options by warehouse, or service point (service partner) |
| Checkout | Nearest PostNord service points, in the two service-point modes |
| Labels | PDF; label size and paper size of your choice |
| Options | COD, insurance, email and SMS notifications, automatic pickup, customs (EORI, HS code, terms of sale) |
| Setup steps in Shipi | Carrier Account → Packing → Rates → Shipping Label |
Most common mistake: the Issuer Code and Country doesn’t match the country of your PostNord agreement, or a service isn’t in your agreement. PostNord then refuses the booking, for example with Unable to allocate id for this basicServiceCode.

What you need to configure PostNord
- A PostNord business agreement. Your customer number on it is your party ID.
- An API key from the PostNord Developer Portal. PostNord may also give you an application ID.
- The services in your agreement (for example Parcel, MyPack Collect, MyPack Home).
Step 1: Add PostNord in Shipi
- Sign in to Shipi and click Carriers in the left menu. The Shipping Accounts page opens.
- Click Add Shipping Account. If you haven’t added any account yet, the page shows the carrier list straight away.
- In the Add New Shipping Account window, search for PostNord and click it.
- The setup form opens. Its steps are listed in the Setup Steps panel on the left: Carrier Account → Packing → Rates → Shipping Label. Click Next at the bottom of each step, and Save Settings on the last one.
The left panel also has a Book a call button. The Shipi team can set up PostNord with you for free.
Step 2: PostNord account information
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| PostNord API Application ID | The application ID PostNord assigned to you, if you have one (optional) |
| Execution Mode * | Live Mode (default) books real shipments. Test Mode uses PostNord’s test system. |
| PostNord Party ID * | Your PostNord customer number (or the ID that matches the type below) |
| PostNord Party ID Type | 160 – customer number (use this for a normal customer number), 167 – VAT customer number, 156 – Service point ID or 229 – Geographic location |
| Issuer Code and Country | The country of your PostNord agreement: Z11-Denmark, Z12-Sweden, Z13-Norway or Z14-Finland |
| PostNord API Key * | Your API key from the PostNord Developer Portal |
| PostNord Weight and Dimension Unit | KG_CM (kilograms) or G_CM (grams) |
| Shipping Account Name * | Any name to recognise the account, for example PostNord – Stockholm |
| Service Mode * | How Shipi picks the PostNord service; see the next section |
| Enable Insurance * | Yes adds PostNord insurance to shipments; No leaves it off |
| Default Service Mode * | Only shown for Select service partner: the service used when none is chosen — Parcel, MyPack Collect or Express Next Day |
PostNord service modes
| Service Mode | At checkout | When you create a label |
|---|---|---|
| Default services | No PostNord options | You choose one of the services you ticked |
| Get delivery options by warehouse | PostNord’s delivery options from your address to the customer, with service points and delivery times | Click Get delivery options by warehouse and pick an option; Shipi books that service and its add-ons |
| Select service partner | The nearest PostNord service points to the customer’s address | Click Fetch Service Provider and pick a service point; Shipi uses your chosen service or the Default Service Mode |
Service points at checkout are shown at a price of 0, because PostNord doesn’t return prices. Set what you charge for shipping in your store or with a Flat Rate account.
Automatic labels start from the PostNord option the customer picked at checkout, so they need one of the two service-point modes. With Default services, create PostNord labels from Shipments.
Step 3: Ship-from address
The Shipping From Address section is under the account fields on the first step. PostNord uses it as the sender on every label, so enter the address your parcels leave from.
If you already have saved addresses
- Shipper addresses saved in your Address Book appear as cards. Click a card to use it for this account; it gets a green Default badge.
- Click Edit on a card to change it, or + Add New Address to add another.
If you don’t have a saved address yet
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Shipper Name * | The contact person, printed on the label |
| Company Name * | Your business name |

| State * | Choose from the list for that country |
| City * | Your city |
| Postal/Zip Code * | Your postal code |
| Tax ID / GSTIN | Your VAT, EORI or other tax number, if customs documents need it (optional) |
| House Number | Only if your address has the house number separate from the street (optional) |
The + Add New Address window has the same fields, plus + Add Custom Field to store any extra reference with the address.
Step 4: Packing
The Package Settings step tells Shipi how to turn an order’s items into parcels for PostNord. Shipi works from your product weights and dimensions, so make sure your products have them.
| Option | How it packs | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| Pack Items Individually | Every item goes in its own parcel. | Each product ships in its own box. |
| All in one box | All items go in one parcel, whatever their size. | Your orders always fit in one box. |
| Weight Based Packing (Heavy Items First) (default) | Fills a parcel, heaviest items first, up to Max Weight (kg) (25 by default), then starts a new parcel. | You don’t use fixed box sizes. |
| Box or tube or envelope or packet packing | Fits the items into the boxes you define, using their dimensions. | You ship in a few standard box sizes. |
Adding your boxes
With the box option selected, click + Add Box and fill in:
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Name * | Any name, for example Small Box or Large Mailer |
| Type * | Box (rigid box), Tube (rolled items such as posters), Envelope (documents and thin, flat items) or Packet (soft mailer bag for items that don’t need a box, such as clothes) |
| Weight of Box (kg) * | What the empty packaging weighs |
| Max Weight (kg) * | The most the box can hold, items and packaging together |
| Width (cm) * | Left to right |
| Height (cm) * | Bottom to top |
| Depth (cm) * | Front to back |
Each box appears as a card with Edit and Remove buttons.
Packing settings greyed out? Your store uses one central packing configuration for all its shipping accounts. Click Edit Configuration, then Yes, Edit Settings. Your changes then apply to every shipping account in the store.
More detail and examples: how shipping package configuration works in Shipi.
Step 5: Services (Rates step)
This step lists the PostNord services Shipi supports. Only the services you tick are used: in rates at checkout and in the service list when you create a label.
- Type in Search services… to find a service, or use the All, Domestic and International tabs.
- Tick the box on a service card to switch it on. Each card shows the service code in brackets, for example
[CODE]. - Click the gear button on a ticked service to open Configure:
:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Display Name | Your own name for the service, used instead of PostNord’s name in the service list when you create a label. Leave empty to keep the standard name. |
| Price Adjustment | PostNord doesn’t return live rates in Shipi, so this has no effect. |
| Price Adjustment % | PostNord doesn’t return live rates in Shipi, so this has no effect. |
On a new account Shipi ticks 7 (DPD), 18 (Parcel), 88 (DPD) and 97 (Parcel Post Collect) for you. Untick any you don’t use.
The list has PostNord’s service codes for all four countries, such as 17 MyPack Home, 18 Parcel, 19 MyPack Collect, 30 MyPack Home Small, 42 Express Next Day and 52 Pallet. Tick only services that are in your agreement.
Step 6: Shipping label settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Cash on Delivery | PostNord collects payment from the receiver |
| PostNord Email Notification | PostNord emails the receiver about the delivery |
| PostNord SMS Notification | PostNord texts the receiver about the delivery |
| Automatic Label Generation | Tick it to create the label as soon as an order with one of this account’s shipping options reaches Shipi. Leave it unticked to create labels yourself from Shipments. |
| Shipment Content * | The description of the goods, for example Clothing |
| Shipping Label Size (PDF) * | STANDARD 190×105 mm, SMALL 75×105 mm, STE 190×105 mm or COMPACT 100×150 mm |
| EORI or Personal Id Number * | Your EORI number (or personal ID) for customs on shipments leaving the EU |
| HS Tariff Number * | The default customs tariff (HS) code for your goods |
| Package Type * | PC parcel, PE EUR pallet, AF half pallet, OA quarter pallet, OF special pallet, CW cage roll, BX box or EN envelope |
| Terms Of Sale * | DDP (DAP cleared), DAP, EXW or DAT: who handles and pays duties |
| TOD Condition Code * | DDP – Consignor (you pay) or EXW – Consignee (receiver pays) |
| TOD Condition Code List * | 2000 – COMBITERMS or 1990 – INCOTERMS |
| Label Paper Size * | A4, A5, A6, LETTER or LABEL |
| Email address to sent Shipping label * | Where Shipi emails the label (and invoice, if there is one) each time a label is created. Separate several addresses with commas. If an automatic label fails, Shipi emails the error instead. Leave empty if you don’t want emails. |
Before you switch on automatic labels: create one test label and check the service and price are right. Automatic and bulk shipments use your default service when the order has no service chosen at checkout.
Pickup settings
At the bottom of the Shipping Label step. With Automatically assign pickup ticked, Shipi asks PostNord to collect each shipment from your ship-from address when it books it.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Automatically assign pickup | Tick it to request a PostNord pickup with every booking |
| Earliest Pickup Date from label creation date? * | How many working days ahead (1–10) the pickup window opens. Saturdays and Sundays are skipped. |

Click Save Settings. The account appears on the Shipping Accounts page with its name, shipper, address and the PostNord logo.
