This guide shows how to configure Econt Express in Shipi. You connect your own e-Econt account, so Shipi can show Econt prices at checkout, create Econt labels for address, office and Econtomat delivery with cash on delivery, book an Econt courier and track every parcel.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| What you need | Your e-Econt username and password (the login for ee.econt.com). No separate API key. |
| Test system | Test Mode uses Econt’s demo system with the public login iasp-dev / 1Asp-dev. Test labels are not real shipments. |
| Services | Parcel, Documents, Pallet and Cargo Express, to an address or to an Econt office / Econtomat |
| Live rates | Yes, for every service you tick (can be switched off) |
| Labels | Econt’s PDF label, created in your e-Econt account |
| Options | Cash on delivery with your Econt payout agreement, declared value, SMS to the customer, open or test before paying, office finder, address check, courier pickup, label cancel, COD payout report |
| Countries | Bulgaria, plus the countries Econt delivers to (for example Greece and Romania) with the same services |
| Setup steps in Shipi | Carrier Account → Package → Shipping Services → Rates → Shipping Label → Pickup |
Test Mode and Live Mode are separate Econt systems. Your real e-Econt login only works in Live Mode, and the demo login only in Test Mode. Labels made in Test Mode don’t exist in your e-Econt account, so switch to Live Mode before you ship real orders.

What you need to configure Econt
- An e-Econt account. Register at ee.econt.com, or ask your Econt office for one. Econt’s developer page describes the API Shipi uses.
- Your e-Econt username and password. Shipi uses them to talk to Econt on your behalf.
- If you have a contract with Econt: the exact client name on the contract and your cash-on-delivery payout agreement number (an НП /
CD…number). Shipi can read both from Econt for you.
Step 1: Add Econt Express in Shipi
- Sign in to Shipi and click Carriers in the left menu. The Shipping Accounts page opens.
- Click Add Shipping Account. If you haven’t added any account yet, the page shows the carrier list straight away.
- In the Add New Shipping Account window, search for Econt Express and click it.
- The setup form opens. Its steps are listed in the Setup Steps panel on the left: Carrier Account → Package → Shipping Services → Rates → Shipping Label → Pickup. Click Next at the bottom of each step, and Save Settings on the last one.
The left panel also has a Book a call button. The Shipi team can set up Econt Express with you for free.
Step 2: Econt account
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Shipping Account Name * | Any name to recognise the account, for example Econt – Sofia |
| Execution Mode * | Live Mode for real shipments, or Test Mode (demo.econt.com) to try Shipi with Econt’s demo system |
| e-Econt Username * | Your e-Econt username (Test Mode: iasp-dev) |
| e-Econt Password * | Your e-Econt password (Test Mode: 1Asp-dev) |
| Test connection and load my Econt profile | Checks the login with Econt and lists the client profiles on your account: the registered name, client number and cash-on-delivery agreements. Click Use this name to copy a name into the next field. |
| Name Registered with Econt | Contract clients only. The exact client name on your Econt contract. Econt only accepts your payout agreement and credit payment when the sender name matches it. Leave empty to send as the Company Name of the ship-from address. |
| Hand Parcels to Econt | Courier collects from my address, or I drop parcels off at an Econt office. Dropping off is cheaper; courier pickups need the address option. |
| Drop-off Office Code * | Only with the drop-off option: the Econt office where you hand in parcels. Click Find near my address to list the offices near your ship-from address and pick one. |
Step 3: Ship-from address
The Shipping From Address section is under the account fields on the first step. Econt uses it as the sender on every label, so enter the address your parcels leave from.
If you already have saved addresses
- Shipper addresses saved in your Address Book appear as cards. Click a card to use it for this account; it gets a green Default badge.
- Click Edit on a card to change it, or + Add New Address to add another.
If you don’t have a saved address yet
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Shipper Name * | The contact person, printed on the label |
| Company Name * | Your business name |
| Mobile / Contact Number * | A phone number the carrier can call about the shipment |
| Email Address * | Your shipping contact email |
| Address Line 1 * | Street and number |
| Address Line 2 | Unit, floor or building (optional) |
| Country * | The country you ship from |
| State * | Choose from the list for that country |
| City * | Your city |
| Postal/Zip Code * | Your postal code |
| Tax ID / GSTIN | Your VAT, EORI or other tax number, if customs documents need it (optional) |
| House Number | Only if your address has the house number separate from the street (optional) |
The + Add New Address window has the same fields, plus + Add Custom Field to store any extra reference with the address.
Econt reads the street and number from Address Line 1 (for example ul. Vitosha 1) and the block, entrance, floor or apartment from Address Line 2. Write the city the way Econt knows it, for example Sofia and postcode 1000.
Step 4: Packing
The Package Settings step tells Shipi how to turn an order’s items into parcels for Econt. Shipi works from your product weights and dimensions, so make sure your products have them.
| Option | How it packs | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| Pack Items Individually | Every item goes in its own parcel. | Each product ships in its own box. |
| All in one box | All items go in one parcel, whatever their size. | Your orders always fit in one box. |
| Weight Based Packing (Heavy Items First) (default) | Fills a parcel, heaviest items first, up to Max Weight (kg) (25 by default), then starts a new parcel. | You don’t use fixed box sizes. |
| Box or tube or envelope or packet packing | Fits the items into the boxes you define, using their dimensions. | You ship in a few standard box sizes. |
Adding your boxes
With the box option selected, click + Add Box and fill in:
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Name * | Any name, for example Small Box or Large Mailer |
| Type * | Box (rigid box), Tube (rolled items such as posters), Envelope (documents and thin, flat items) or Packet (soft mailer bag for items that don’t need a box, such as clothes) |
| Weight of Box (kg) * | What the empty packaging weighs |
| Max Weight (kg) * | The most the box can hold, items and packaging together |
| Width (cm) * | Left to right |
| Height (cm) * | Bottom to top |
| Depth (cm) * | Front to back |
Each box appears as a card with Edit and Remove buttons.
Packing settings greyed out? Your store uses one central packing configuration for all its shipping accounts. Click Edit Configuration, then Yes, Edit Settings. Your changes then apply to every shipping account in the store.
More detail and examples: how shipping package configuration works in Shipi.
Step 5: Shipping services
This step lists the Econt services Shipi supports. Only the services you tick are used: in rates at checkout and in the service list when you create a label.
- Type in Search services… to find a service, or use the All, Domestic and International tabs.
- Tick the box on a service card to switch it on. Each card shows the service code in brackets, for example
[CODE]. - Click the gear button on a ticked service to open Configure:
:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Display Name | Your own name for the service, used instead of Econt’s name in the service list when you create a label and in the rates your customers see at checkout. Leave empty to keep the standard name. |
| Price Adjustment % | Adds this percentage to Econt’s price in checkout rates and Get Rates, for example 10 for 10% more. Use a negative number for a discount. The label is still charged at Econt’s price. |
Econt has no service codes of its own: a shipment is a type (parcel, documents, pallet, cargo) delivered to an address or to an Econt office. Shipi turns each combination into a service:
| Service (code) | What it is |
|---|---|
Parcel to Address (pack_door) | A parcel of up to 50 kg delivered to the customer’s address |
Parcel to Econt Office / Econtomat (pack_office) | The customer collects the parcel from an Econt office or an Econtomat (parcel locker). Usually the cheapest option. |
Documents to Address (document_door) | Documents up to 0.5 kg to an address |
Documents to Econt Office (document_office) | Documents up to 0.5 kg to an Econt office |
Pallet to Address (pallet_door) | One or more pallets up to 1000 kg (80×120×180 cm). Econt needs the measured size, so give your boxes real dimensions. |
Cargo Express to Address (cargo_door) | Palletised freight larger than a pallet, up to 500 kg |
Parcel and document services show under the Domestic tab, pallet and cargo under All. The same services work for addresses abroad that Econt delivers to.
Step 6: Rates
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Enable Realtime Shipping Rates * | Yes shows Econt’s price for each ticked service at checkout; No hides them. Shipi asks Econt for all services in one request. |
| Default Service | The service used for automatic and bulk labels when the order has no Econt service |
| Office Delivery Without a Chosen Office | What happens when an office service has no office picked on the label screen: Use the office nearest to the customer’s address or Stop and ask me to choose an office. Turn on SMS Notification so Econt tells the customer where to collect. |
Checkout prices for office services use the office nearest to the customer; Econt charges the same for every office. Cash-on-delivery fees aren’t in checkout prices because the payment method isn’t known yet; Econt adds them on the label.
Step 7: Shipping label settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Shipping Label Generation Time | Create Label Manually: you create each label from Shipments. Create Label immediately once order placed: Shipi creates the label as soon as an order with one of this account’s shipping options reaches Shipi. |
| Email address to sent Shipping documents * | Where Shipi emails the label (and invoice, if there is one) each time a label is created. Separate several addresses with commas. If an automatic label fails, Shipi emails the error instead. Leave empty if you don’t want emails. |
| Shipment Content Description | Printed on the label, for example Clothes. Leave empty to use the product names. |
| Who Pays for Shipping | Sender (you pay Econt), or Receiver (customer pays the courier): the customer pays the full delivery price when they get the parcel |
| Payment Method (sender) | Account default (Econt applies your e-Econt terms), Cash or Credit (Econt contract clients). Credit only works when the sender name matches your contract. |
| Cash on Delivery | Collect when the store order is cash on delivery: Econt collects the order’s COD amount from the customer. Never collect switches COD off. You can also type an amount per order on the label screen. |
| COD Payout Agreement (optional) | Your Econt payout agreement (CD…), which decides how Econt pays you the collected cash: to your bank, an office or an address. Test connection on step 1 lists yours. |
| Declared Value (insurance) | Yes declares the value of the goods, so Econt covers it if the parcel is lost or damaged (small fee) |
| SMS Notification to Customer | Yes: Econt texts the customer about the delivery (small fee) |
| Review Before Payment | Open and check before paying or Open and test before paying let the customer look at the goods before they pay the courier. Econt ignores it for Econtomats. |
Before you switch on automatic labels: create one test label and check the service and price are right. Automatic and bulk shipments use your default service when the order has no service chosen at checkout.
Step 8: Courier pickup and COD payout report
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Book the Courier Automatically | Yes, request a courier after each label: Shipi asks Econt to collect every new label. No: you book pickups from the Pickups page. |
| Ready From / Ready Until | The time window the courier can come, in Bulgarian time. Shipi books today’s window while it is still open (at least an hour before it closes), otherwise the next working day. |
| Pickup Contact Person / Phone | Who the courier asks for and calls. Empty uses the shipper name and phone. |
Courier pickups need Courier collects from my address on step 2. When you edit a saved account, this step also shows the COD Payout Report: pick dates up to one month apart and click Show payouts to see the cash-on-delivery money Econt has paid out, per shipment, with totals.
After you save
Click Save Settings. The account appears on the Shipping Accounts page with its name, shipper, address and the Econt logo.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Status switch | On: the account is used for live rates. Off: Shipi leaves it out of rates. |
| Edit | Opens the setup form to change any setting |
| Delete (bin icon) | Removes the account |
| Custom Shipping Rule | Set a free-shipping threshold, choose one default domestic and one default international carrier account (with a service), and send chosen countries to a specific account |
Create your first Econt label
- Click Shipments in the left menu.
- Click Create Label next to an order, or Create Shipment to ship something that isn’t an order.
- Check the shipper and receiver details and the products, then choose your Econt account and a service.
- Click Get Rates to see the price of the selected service.
- Set the shipment options below if you need them, then click Create Shipment.
- Shipi shows the tracking number and the label to print. If you entered an email address in the settings, the label is emailed too.
Econt options on the label screen:
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Shipping Service | The Econt service for this shipment |
| Book Econt Courier? | Yes asks Econt to collect this parcel after the label is created |
| Econt Office / Econtomat | Office services only: the office code the customer collects from. Click Find near customer to list the offices and Econtomats near the receiver address (nearest in bold, then the rest of the city) and click one. |
| Check address with Econt | Address services only: shows how Econt reads the receiver address, and warns when Econt can’t confirm it |
| Cash on Delivery | The amount Econt collects from the customer. It starts with the order’s COD amount; empty or 0 means no COD. |
| Declared Value? / SMS to Customer? / Review Before Paying | Override the account defaults for this shipment |
Delivery to an Econt office or Econtomat
- Choose Parcel to Econt Office / Econtomat (or Documents to Econt Office).
- Click Find near customer and pick the office the customer asked for, or type its code.
- Create the label. If you leave the office empty, Shipi uses the office nearest to the customer’s address, unless the account is set to Stop and ask me to choose an office.
Set SMS to Customer? to Yes so Econt texts the customer when the parcel is ready to collect.
Cancel a label and track shipments
- Cancel on the Shipments page deletes the label in your e-Econt account, as long as Econt hasn’t received the parcel yet. After that, Econt refuses and the label stays.
- Shipi tracks every Econt label automatically: accepted, in transit, out for delivery or waiting at the office, and delivered. The customer gets Shipi’s tracking emails if you have them switched on.
- Anyone can also follow a parcel on econt.com with the tracking number.
Shipping abroad with Econt
The same services work for addresses abroad that Econt delivers to, such as Greece and Romania. Econt matches foreign cities against its own Latin spellings, for example Athina for Athens and Bucuresti for Bucharest. Shipi converts the common English names, Greek accents and Romanian letters for you, and retries with the postcode when a city name doesn’t match. If Econt still can’t find the city, edit the receiver city to Econt’s spelling.
Troubleshooting
| Message or problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| Error while packing: Check whether the products having weights / dimensions. | One or more products has no weight or dimensions. Add them to the product (or the shipment) and try again. |
Econt rejected the username or password… | Check the e-Econt username and password, and that Execution Mode matches them: real login = Live Mode, demo login = Test Mode. |
Econt could not match the city and postcode… | Correct the receiver’s city and postcode. For Greece use the Latin spelling Econt uses (for example Athina). |
Econt needs a street name and number… | Put the street and number in Address Line 1, and the block or apartment in Address Line 2. Or ship to an Econt office instead. |
Choose the Econt office the customer collects from… | The account is set to stop when no office is chosen. Pick an office on the label screen, or change Office Delivery Without a Chosen Office. |
The "credit" payment method only works for Econt contract clients… | Set Name Registered with Econt to the exact contract name (use Test connection), or set Payment Method to Account default. |
The COD agreement number does not belong to this sender… | The payout agreement belongs to another client name. Fix Name Registered with Econt, or clear COD Payout Agreement. |
Econt has no shipment with this number… | The label was made in the other mode. Test labels only exist on Econt’s demo system. |
| Label created, but the Econt courier was not booked | The label is fine. Book the pickup from the Pickups page, or check that the account collects from your address, not an office. |
| No Econt rates at checkout | Set Enable Realtime Shipping Rates to Yes, tick the services you want, check the account status is on, and make sure the ship-from city and postcode are filled in. |
